I am trying to get better at the impulse purchases. I just need to get better at my purchases in general.  I have decided to go on a shopping diet which means that I am going to really have to shop my closet. I recently purchased a pair of gingham print pants and I have to say there are not the easiest to style. When I was trying them on I had a million ideas of how to style them and pooof all those ideas are gone. Here are some ideas that I have managed to come up with. How would you style a pair of gingham print pants?

When I first saw Amanda Seyfried in a lace Givenchy Gown at the Golden Globes I fell in love. I mean the dress is amazing. I love everything about it. I was on a quest to find a copy cat and was lucky enough to find one from Asos  and on sale no less.  Now I know I am a bit late in posting about this dress but honestly  I was waiting patiently for a reason to wear it. I cannot wait to wear it again. I got a similar one in pink as well and will definitely be wearing it this spring/summer.

I cannot believe that weather has finally decided to cooperate. It is actually feeling like Spring. There were days this week that actually felt like summer. I am soo over the winter so I will take anything right now. Here is to another great week.
Picture
Day 98: Hello Summer. Temps reached the 80s this week and Mister Softee made an appearance. Even though I am not a big fan it was nice to see an ice cream truck.

Picture
Day 100: Greek Chicken Pasta. This is my new favorite dish. I can eat this everyday and be ok with it. I think this will be my go to summer dish. So quick to make and yummy too.

Picture
Day 102: In anticipation of a busy weekend we decided to wine and movie for date night. Sometimes it is amazing to stay in on a Friday night.
Picture
Day 104: We were on the road at 6am on Sunday on our way to Rhode Island. It was amazing to see the sun rise. It won't be happening again anytime soon though because I really like to sleep.
Picture
Day 99: Look ma. No stockings. Haha . It was soo nice to throw on a skirt with my ballet flats and keep it moving. I don't mind the cold most of the time but I do hate having to pile on layers upon layers of clothes just to stay warm.
Picture
Day 101: Thursday night was book club featuring The Devil in the White City. I really want to like this book but we are currently in a love hate relationship.  Let's just say there was a lot more wine drinking and book discussing this go around. I am still determined to finish the book btw.

Day 103: Took a ride to Queens with DH for his foosball game. I always appreciate Manhattan that much more when I am looking at it from across the river.

A few weeks ago I bought a pair of Floral Pants from H & M similar to ones above and almost returned them. I had a moment where I just stared at them and wondered what I was thinking and how I would even be able to pull them off. Even though I have since worn them twice I am still bouncing around ideas. Here are my thoughts on how I would style them.  How would you style Floral Pants?

I ended the week with a long weekend in Atlantic City with the fam. It was a mostly relaxing weekend. Lots of wine, naps and food. My idea of a perfect weekend. Even though I had a great weekend I am even more excited about the weather that is headed our way. We are looking at 70s and even 80s this week. Cannot wait to bring out my peep toes.
Picture
Day 91. One reason why I love my gym. "Cycle Karaoke". Great way to start my week.

Picture
Day 93: Another favorite class at my gym is called "Pound". It is sooo much fun but beware you will be sore for days afterward. Another great workout.

Picture
Day 95: Another ootd pic. I will be posting about the outfit later this week. Stay tuned.
Picture
Day 97: One of my guilty pleasures. I eat this stuff about once or twice a year and I just had to have it. Just because I am skinny does not mean I do not eat. I can throw down like none other.
Picture
Day 92: I cheated on Tuesday with my photo a day. The day just flew by so I decided to capture my post for the day.
Picture
Day 94: I waited until the last minute to pack (as always) and ended up packing 5 pairs of shoes for one long weekend. Most would think that is excessive but that is quite normal for me. And yes I did wear each and everyone of them.  BTW guess which shoes I only paid $10 for?
Picture
Day 96: I spent most of the day on Saturday laying by the pool and in and out of the hottub. It really doesn't get any better than that.

My latest obsession is with silver pumps. They seem to be popping up everywhere and I really would like a pair  but I have yet to find the perfect pair at the right price.  There are so many styles out there and I keep on changing my mind as to what I want. I am gravitating towards a pointy pair of stilettos but I am sure that will change come next week. As of right now I currently have a few pairs of silver shoes in my closet but they do not seem to fulfill the obsession.  Here are some styles I have my eye on.

The temps in NYC came close to 60 degrees this past weekend and even though it was still too chilly for sandals I was inspired to take my white J Brands out for a spin. These are one of my favorite pairs of jeans. Not only do I love the fit but I got these at the Barney's Outlet in Florida for less than $30. Not bad for a pair of jeans that retail for close to $200. Also as a side note DH picked this outfit. I think he did a decent job. What do you think?

As the month of March comes to an end I am looking forward to spring and what April will bring. As of right now my calendar is a bit intense so posting may be light towards the end of the month. My goal is to continue to post at least 4 times a week so lets see how that goes.

Day 84: I grew up in NYC which means that I sometimes take it for granted. This is literally my backyard (lower manhattan) and I sometimes forget how amazing it is.
Day 86: As the weather starts to warm up Little Italy starts to come to life. One of the fave places to go and sip on sangria on a warm summer night.
Day 88:  Friday night we just stayed in a did a whole lot of nothing and I was 100% ok with this.
Day 90: I spent the better part of my Easter Sunday in bed but did get up to enjoy Easter dinner with the fam.
Day 85: In preparation for the Five Boro Bike Tour I started taking spinning classes. I can't wait for the weather to warm up enough for us to do some outdoor rides.
Day 87: Two of my favorite boys just lounging around the house. This is what I get to come home to every night.

Day 89: Saturday we drove down to the city for a boozy brunch. Lets just say we were pretty silly have 90 minutes of mimosas and bellinis.

Let me start by saying that I do love my hair on most days . It can be a lot of work though which is why it often gets pulled back into a bun. So many have asked how do I manage to keep my hair so healthy and the answer is simple. I don't really use that many products in my hair. You will be surprised to know what I actually use so I decided to share it with you all.

(1) Shampoo and Conditioner

I try not to wash my hair too often because curly hair can get very dry but when I do I use Shampoo and Conditioner from Trader Joe's. Yes you read correctly. Amazon has them for 9.99 a pop but I actually pay 2.99 at the store. Not sure why it is so expensive on Amazon.  TiP: I don't always wash out the conditioner. I usually will detangle in the shower using the conditioner and just squeeze out the remaining water and wrap my hair in a towel to soak up the excess water. I then let it air dry so I treat the conditioner like a leave in.

(2) Leave In Conditioner

I use Dominican Conditioner as my leave in. This product is not intended to be a leave in but when mixed with a little bit of water it is perfect for my thirsty strands. I split my hair into four parts and comb it through. I then let my hair air dry and I am left with what you see in the picture.  TIP: This is great for the beach since salt water and sun can really dry your hair out. I usually throw into my beach bag and coat my hair with some conditioner after swimming. Not only does it allow me to get away with half decent beach hair but it keeps my hair from drying out.

(3) Curl Refresher

In between washes I spritz my hair with a combination of aloe vera juice and coconut oil. I mix equal parts into a spray bottle and spritz away. This is a great way to refresh my curls without having to put any chemicals or rewash it. It doesn't matter the brand as long as it is natural and does not contain any other funky ingredients.

So the secret is out. This is my hair routine. It's that simple. Now I have to stop being soo lazy and actually do something other than wrapping it up in a bun.

A couple of weekends ago I went to Palisades Mall with the fam. While DH and company went rope climbing I checked out the new Uniqlo that just opened up. Let me start by saying that I have been a fan of Uniqlo since I stumbled upon it on a trip to Tokyo several years ago. I cannot even tell you how happy I am that they are now in the states. Here is what I picked up from Uniqlo. Of course everything was on sale.

Light Pink Skinny Jeans 9.90 Retail Price 19.90 (50% savings)
Picture
Gingham Print Skinny Leggings 9.90 Retail Price 14.90 (34% Savings).
Picture
Basic V-Neck T-Shirts ( I got four total) 7.90 each. Retail Price 9.90 (20% Savings).
My next stop was H&M. I stocked up on some goodies for spring here as well.

Printed Flower ankle pants 9.95 Retail Price 24.95 (60% Savings).
Printed Ankle Pants 9.95 Retail Price 24.95 (60% Savings).
Printed Red Skinny Pants 7.50 Retail Price 24.95 (70% Savings). Because these were on clearance I could not find them online but here is a similar pair.
Leopard Trench 15.00 Retail Price 59.99 (75% Savings)
So my grand total for the day was $93.80. Can you believe it. I got 10 pieces for under $100. Average savings was 55% off. I saved over $100.  Another successful shopping trip. Now I have to figure out how to fit this all in my insanely crowded closet.
