365 Challenge 8.0

This was my first week back in NYC so there was a lot of catching up to do. I found it very difficult to keep up with the 365 challenge but I did. The only thing I did notice is that the last few days have been all about food and drinks. I promise I went to the gym and did other stuff.
Picture
Day 49: After two weeks I finally made it back home to NYC. I am quick to talk about how I am dying to move some where sunnier but the minute you take me out of NYC for an extended period of time I get all homesick and crazy. I am starting to think I will never leave for good.
Picture
Day 51: As you can see I started to run out of things to take pictures of so here is snapshot of what was featured on my blog this past week. When in Tampa it was a bit chilly but I got to wear something a bit more springy which was nice. Sooo looking forward to warmer temps. I will even take anything above freezing.

Day 53: Guess what I got for Valentines Day. A KINDLE!!!! Sooo excited. I have been using my ipad for reading for the last few years but it is not very good in direct sunlight. I see some lazy summer days in my future with my kindle by my side.
Picture
Day 55: I promise I am not an alcoholic. I went to the gym and even did some grocery shopping before I settled in with a glass of wine to watch the oscars.  That is how I prep but another hectic week at work :)
Picture
Day 50: Over the last year DH has become a bit of a master in the kitchen. I am thankful for coming home to a warm meal on most nights. Especially when I forgot to eat lunch.

Picture
Day 52: Meatball subs for dinner. This was DH's idea and it was brilliant. SOOOO GOOOODD!!!. And we even had it on a wheat baguette. That is healthy right.

Day 54: After work on Saturday I met some friends for drinks. It was great to catch up after being away for so long.

Trends from Fashion Week: Plaid Under $25

Until recently I really was not on board with the plaid trend. I mean really? Why would I wear that? And then one day things changed. I bought a plaid button down and then another one and another one and now I am a bit obsessed. (I only own a handful btw). Even though I didn't get to follow NYFW the way I wanted to I tried best to follow via twitter and one of the trends that kept popping up was plaid. Now I am still a little weary of going all out with the plaid but I can't help but consider the following pieces. The fact that they are all under $25 doesn't hurt either.

Spring Florals

I am officially over winter. I am ready for spring. I spent a few days in Tampa and even though it was cold for Tampa standards it gave me a great excuse to wear something other than massive layers of wool and down. It felt soo good to leave the house in a maxi and open toe shoes. I really miss living in Florida. :) I picked up this dress on sale from Asos and am really looking forward to wearing it all spring and well into the summer. The jacket if you recall is my tried and true jean jacket that I have had since high school. I love being a fashion hoarder.

As this week comes to an end I have to say it has been the best one yet. I started the week off in SF for work and ended the week spending an amazing weekend with DH and BFF. I have no complaints. I don't normally celebrate Valentines Day so the BFF decided to torture me by decorating for the holiday. It turned out to be a lot of fun actually. I may have to start celebrating. There was a lot of instagram activity this week. My biggest challenge was trying to figure out which photo would be my photo of the day.
Picture
Day 43: I am obsessed with this dress. It is from Banana Republic and definitely combines a Spring 2013 trend (black and white) with a Fall 2013 trend (plaid). This dress will be getting a lot of wear in the future.
Picture
Day 45: I spent Valentine's Day in Tampa, FL with the BFF and DH. They looked so cute together in the kitchen while us girls sipped on wine and chatted on the couch. Did I mention this holiday is starting to grow on me.
Picture
Day 47: Saturday night was another date night. BTW the red velvet frozen yogurt from Yogurtology is awesome. That should really mean something coming from someone that does not really eat sweets too often.
Picture
Day 44: I spent the better part of my day on Wednesday flying across the US. The snow capped mountains look so perty from 30K feet up.

Picture
Day 46: Friday was night was date night. We had a nice sunset dinner on the water. Even though it was a bit chilly it was so nice to spend some time outdoors in the middle of February. We went on to do some dancing in Ybor City later that night complete with our own private DJ. Haha.
Picture
Day 48: Sunday funday was celebrated on the water with some Medalla's (puerto rican beer) and lots of yummy food. Definitely a happy girl.

365 Challenge 6.0

So I am still in San Francisco for work which is why I have not been updating the blog. I miss it soo much. I cannot wait to get back into the swing of things. Between being busy at work and the time difference it has been very difficult for me to keep up. That being said I have been very good about my gym routine. The gym is right across the street from one of my offices so no excuses. Here is how my week went.
Picture
Day 36: On my way to grab something to eat I had to catch this moment. It is really easy to just rush through life without taking things in. This is what people think of when they think of San Francisco so I definitely had to catch the moment.

Picture
Day 38: Most of you who know me know that I am a meat and potatoes kinda girl. My co-workers suggested I try out this salad so I followed their advice and went in. The salad was really good but I spent most of my afternoon starving. That is the last time I eat a salad as an entree. I don't know how people do it.
Picture
Day 40: Yup that is right. Two #ootd photos in a row. Haha. I had to work on Saturday so I chose to dress up my otherwise casual outfit with a velvet blazer. Before you know it will be too warm to pull off velvet so I'm taking advantage while I can.

Picture
Day 42: Continuing with my grilled cheese addiction I went The Melt to pick up lunch. While waiting for my meal this is the temptation I had to deal with. I think it should be illegal for these things to be on display in the middle of the day on a Monday no less. So not right.
Picture
Day 37: With the gym being right across the street from me  I have made it point to visit almost everyday after work. I feel great. As for yoga well my love hate relationship continues. I took an anti gravity yoga class and even though it was kinda fun and I felt great afterwards there were times during the class when I felt like I was being tortured.
Picture
Day 39: Guess what. It is an #ootd pic. Haha. Remember those. Since I have not been really good about keeping up with my blog I figured an #ootd pic was in order. This skirt is from Forever 21 btw. Got soo many compliments on it.

Picture
Day 41: I think it has been established that not only do I love food but I have a slight addiction to grilled cheese. That is pretty much all I eat on the weekends. Cowgirl Creamery is probably my fav place in the whole world. Anytime I come to SF I have to have a grilled cheese from this place at least once. LOVE!!!!!

365 Challenge 5.0

I am currently in San Francisco for work so posting will be limited this week. In the meantime here is how my past week went. It is starting to become a challenge taking a picture a day. I think it's because I have been soo busy. More reason for my to slow down a bit and take a moment to capture a memory or two. At least I have not missed a day. Still going strong. Maybe I should do a 365 outfit challenge.
Picture
Day 29: I am about 1/3 of the way through and loving Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. Fortunately I had a little down time earlier in the week when I was stuck on a disabled train for over an hour. At least I got to catch up on my reading.
Picture
Day 31: In my attempt to shop my closet I stumbled upon these beauties. Can't believe they have been sitting in a box (that I thought was empty) for almost a year. I really need to stop shopping.

Picture
Day 33: Remember when I used to post pictures of my outfits on Facebook. Yeah I know its been awhile. This was my idea of casual saturday. Yellow cords and a cozy black sweater.
Picture
Day 35: Yup. That is Ted. He is stalking me. This is what I saw when I looked out the window of my office today. Extremely creepy.
Picture
Day 30: Everywhere I look I have a bunch of crochet projects that I have started but never finished. I really need to carve out some time to finish these projects.

Picture
Day 32: Grand Central Terminal turned 100 years old on Friday February 1st. Seems like they had a lot of great festivities but I did not have time to deal all the people. It should be against policy to conduct such celebrations during rush hour.
Picture
Day 34: I am not normally a huge fan of pizza but this white pizza with artichoke and mushroom was amazing.
