(1) Shampoo and Conditioner
I try not to wash my hair too often because curly hair can get very dry but when I do I use Shampoo and Conditioner from Trader Joe's. Yes you read correctly. Amazon has them for 9.99 a pop but I actually pay 2.99 at the store. Not sure why it is so expensive on Amazon. TiP: I don't always wash out the conditioner. I usually will detangle in the shower using the conditioner and just squeeze out the remaining water and wrap my hair in a towel to soak up the excess water. I then let it air dry so I treat the conditioner like a leave in.
(2) Leave In Conditioner
I use Dominican Conditioner as my leave in. This product is not intended to be a leave in but when mixed with a little bit of water it is perfect for my thirsty strands. I split my hair into four parts and comb it through. I then let my hair air dry and I am left with what you see in the picture. TIP: This is great for the beach since salt water and sun can really dry your hair out. I usually throw into my beach bag and coat my hair with some conditioner after swimming. Not only does it allow me to get away with half decent beach hair but it keeps my hair from drying out.
(3) Curl Refresher
In between washes I spritz my hair with a combination of aloe vera juice and coconut oil. I mix equal parts into a spray bottle and spritz away. This is a great way to refresh my curls without having to put any chemicals or rewash it. It doesn't matter the brand as long as it is natural and does not contain any other funky ingredients.
So the secret is out. This is my hair routine. It's that simple. Now I have to stop being soo lazy and actually do something other than wrapping it up in a bun.
