I have been admiring the printed denim trend for a some time now. It is one of those trends that I think look great on everyone else but once I purchased my very own pair I could not figure out how or when I would wear these crazy jeans. Pairing them with a black top and black blazer I decided to take the plunge since they have been sitting in the closet (taking up precious space might I add) for a few months now. I am still trying to figure out if I will look back at this post a year from now and wonder "WHAT WAS I THINKING????". What do you think about the patterned denim trend? Would you give it a try?

Who's idea was this anyway? This was the first time I ever did something like this and although I was pretty convinced that a train was going to run me over I ended up having a lot of fun. The BFF and DH also had fun making fun of me for being scared. I swear they gang up on me anytime they get together. Good thing we live in different states. :) -TaimaI am not even going to try to pretend that I am not guilty of wearing leggings as pants. I have worn them a few times. I know they are comfy and easy but things are getting out of hand. At least once a day I will see a girl walking down 5th avenue with no pants on AKA see through leggings. Sooo not cool. The least you can do is throw on a tunic or something. In any event this fall colored cords, pattern denim and leather is the way to go. Here are some options that should take the place of those leggings and make it easy for you to say NO to wearing leggings as pants. (1) Skinny Cords-These can be found in almost every color and price point. They are also much warmer than leggings. (2) Printed Denim- I own 1 pair of printed denim that I have yet to wear. (Might take the plunge this weekend). This is a big trend this fall and there are many options. The key is to pair them with a solid color top or you can give the mixed print trend a try if you dare. :) (3) Leather/Coated Denim- Leather pants can get a bit expensive but you can get a pair of coated denim that give you the same look. I love the way these look paired with a chunky sweater and suede booties. -TaimaOver drinks a few weeks ago with a few friends we got into a pretty intense conversation about wearing white after Labor Day. I was a bit shocked to hear that there are actually a lot of people that strictly follow this "rule". Well I am definitely not one of them. While there are some things that I do not wear after Labor Day (seersucker anything) the idea of waiting 9 months to wear white again is just about dreadful. If done properly white after labor is definitely a "DO" in my book. Especially if you toughen it up with a little bit of leather (huge trend this season). Do you wear white after labor day? -TaimaThe common theme this past week has been food. Almost all my Instagram pictures are food. It is my third love after shoes and shopping. In any event the week started out with sightseeing and a trip to Coney Island for Nathan's Hot Dogs. I ate a lot of BAD BAD BAD food on Monday. The week ended with hysteria in the Old Navy fitting room while trying on about 85 pairs of skinny cords with my girl Michelle. (Check out her site and blog here). I have to say it amazing week. -TaimaSo last night while killing time waiting for DH to meet me for dinner I did a little shopping in SoHo which resulted in the purchase of a pair of RED suede shoes. Not exactly the blue suede shoes I have been lusting after (and will also be purchasing) but I really couldn't resist. DH was not thrilled but I blame it on his late arrival. Hehe. That will show him to be on time in the future. In order to justify the purchase and limited real estate in my closet I put together 4 looks that would go great with my new babies. -TaimaI have developed a bit of an obsession over blue suede shoes. It doesn't help that everyone in New York City seems to own a pair. I see them in every shape and style walking down fifth avenue and all I can think of is why I haven't added a pair to my closet. Here are some budget friendly options I have my eye on. Just cannot figure out which pair I want. -TaimaI am not a huge fan of flats but somedays I need to put away the six inch heels for something a bit more "reasonable". Now that the fall is here I know I will spend more time walking around the city therefore here are some stylish options that are all budget friend. I tried to stay under $50 for most of my picks. Which ones would you wear?
Another rainy day in New York City gives me an excuse to do some rainy day shopping. For summer and spring color has been the trend so why not carry that into the fall when the temperatures start to drop and the sea of black and beige trenches arrive. I do own a black trench and I also have a beige one on my wish list but right now I am a bit obsessed with color and am always looking to add something bright to my collection of outer wear. I have managed to find a few colorful options and they are all under $100. Now I need to decide which one (or two) I will get.
