I know it feels like summer just started however Fall is right around the corner which means it is time to start filling up our closets with some fall pieces. I am always one to take on the challenge of finding things on sale so when I was asked to find a classic navy pencil skirt I said why not find a classic pencil skirt that is on sale and under $100. I of course have been personally obsessed with the color navy and just recently found a great navy j crew blazer for the fall. However we were talking about skirts so here is what I found.

We are almost half way through January and I am already getting further and further away from my new years' resolution of buying less shoes. (I have already purchases three pairs.. eekk). For almost a year now I have been looking for a pair of silver pumps and although I had my eye on the ones above from Jimmy Choo I could not reach deep enough in my pocket to spend $600 on a pair of shoes that in my opinion are a bit trendy. I finally found them at the Jimmy Choo outlet in Woodbury and even at half price after trying them on I still could not bring myself to buy them. I decided to try to find an option under $50 that were still a decent quality but were not going to break my budget. Here are a few options that I found. Which ones are your favorite? -Taima Its award season which is always an exciting time of year for me. I love to see what everyone is wearing on the red carpet so then I can come up with the challenge of trying to find a similar look on a "Poor in a Private Plane" budget. Also with two weddings this year I am hoping for some inspiration to put together some great looks. Last year I posted about a dress that I found on Asos and was very similar to a dress thatI Amanda Seyfried wore at the Golden Globes. Although I have not documented it I have worn this dress so much over the course of the last year and cannot wait to pull it out again. I even got a version in pink. In celebration of award season I had to share this again. Over the course of the next few weeks I will be sharing more looks and shopping posts inspired by red carpet looks. Stay tuned. -Taima Shop the Look:

For most of my trip I wore a uniform of colorful maxi Dresses and Denim. I have to say if you are traveling to a warm destination and you are tight on room in your luggage maxi dresses are the way to go. They are an instant outfit and can be dressed up or down. I had this brilliant idea on my trip that I was going to change about three times a day. That did not exactly happened. Most of time I freshened up my makeup and just kept it going into the evening with my maxi dress. Gotta love the versatility. _Taima Today I am linking up with:
I am going to Europe for a couple of weeks this summer and I am stressing out about how I am going to pack 39 outfits in one luggage. I am pretty sure it is going to be nearly impossible but I have a few tricks up my sleeve. One of them being sneaking some stuff into DH suitcase. Shhh don't tell him. One of my favorite things that I discovered a few years ago is the convertible dress. It is a dress that can be worn in a number of different styles and I think it is a great idea and something I will definitely be including in my suitcase. They can be expensive (think upwards of $200 bucks) so here are some options that I found that are a bit more wallet friendly. If money is no object this version comes in at over $300 bucks. One day I may invest in one of these but for now it is a bit out of my price range. This is a great option for formal wear. Gilt currently has this version on sale for about $100. Definitely well worth it if it is within this budget. Last but not least Target comes to the rescue with a version that comes in at 34.99. This is a great deal and definitely a great way to try out the trend before investing in it. -TaimaInitially I was not fond of the lucite trend. Every time I see clear shoes I think of a stripper and it is not exactly the look I am going for. I fell in love with the Lanvin heels when I saw them though. Although the heel it lucite it is smoky so to me they don't scream stripper. Well at least I hope they don't. As for the dress it was another great find. I found it at the clearance rack at Necessary Clothing down in the village. Set me back a whole $10. I can live with that. How do you feel about the lucite trend? -Taima If I wasn't currently on a shopping diet I would go out and buy maxi skirts in every color I could find them. They are my new found obsession. I got this one for 6 bucks at NY & Co a few weeks back and I absolutely love it. I absolutely love the colors and print and am just dying to mix it up with a few other pieces in my closet. (Look out for a remix post). What trend are you obsessing over this spring? Getting dressed has been such a challenge lately. We are hovering between 40-60 which means most days it is too cool to really bring out the spring and summer pieces. I'm looking forward to when I can throw on a dress, a pair of heels and keep it moving. Until then I will be shopping my closet for bright pieces that will keep my spirits up. At least it is not snowing. I am thankful for that. I've had my fill for the year. I just need to get better at my purchases in general. I have decided to go on a shopping diet which means that I am going to really have to shop my closet. I recently purchased a pair of gingham print pants and I have to say there are not the easiest to style. When I was trying them on I had a million ideas of how to style them and pooof all those ideas are gone. Here are some ideas that I have managed to come up with. How would you style a pair of gingham print pants? -Taima When I first saw Amanda Seyfried in a lace Givenchy Gown at the Golden Globes I fell in love. I mean the dress is amazing. I love everything about it. I was on a quest to find a copy cat and was lucky enough to find one from Asos and on sale no less. Now I know I am a bit late in posting about this dress but honestly I was waiting patiently for a reason to wear it. I cannot wait to wear it again. I got a similar one in pink as well and will definitely be wearing it this spring/summer. Dress: Asos Here or Similar Here. Pink version here.
